This year, I’ve shot more photos of dogs, birds, and exotic animals, than ever! It’s been tons of fun doing so much pet photography, event photography, and photo booth style photography.
Over the past few years, I’ve taken many pictures of various women, myself included, in bird cages. I feel that these are some of my most unique and meaningful photos, ranging from humorous to haunting. There’s tons of symbolism to being in a cage that is too small, that you can willingly get out of.
It was so much fun getting to bring along my camera and take some event photos at St. Louis Avian Rescue’s (STAR) Meet the Birds event. I also shot some video and will be brushing up on my web-media production skills by editing that!
A picture a day project, or a 365 POTD, is a commonly used exercise and challenge for photographers and people wanting to improve their photography. I started January 1 with my brand new Canon 6D, and am getting into the habit!
I hope everyone had a happy New Year and rang in 2013 with good cheer!
I’m starting this year fresh with an upgraded camera and a lot of ideas. Stay tuned for more exciting changes… I’ll be making very easy to understand website design packages, having monthly giveaways, and more!
