I was asked by a client for more information about me, my skills, my strengths, how I work, etcetera. Here’s part of what I wrote him, I thought it was worth sharing:

My past experience is very broad, and mostly with small businesses with less than 50 employees. I pride myself in being able to “bring it all together” with building solid search engine optimized, attractive, feature rich, functional websites. My past work experience includes everything from content writing, compiling & publishing online education courses, ecommerce implementation, online marketing (through social media, SEO, newsletters, etc.), and (obviously) WordPress website implementation.

My strategy with SEO is installing structure and automation that is friendly to search engines, such as site maps, cross browser compatibility, and search engine friendly URLs. I train clients on how to take control of their brands and further make the most of search engine optimizing their sites through blogs and social media.

Although I don’t write my own code or work extensively with databases, I communicate really well with people who do, and am comfortable following their directions on adding and customizing code or getting into the mysql database following their instructions (at this point, I don’t have any experience with Microsoft Exchange or other databases besides mysql). I work really well with team members who appreciate my genial communication style, and I’m comfortable being either a leader or a follower.

I like to work 100% focused for a few hours at a time, and so usually work on two or three client sites per day. I find that I work most efficiently when I can get into the flow of a project. I try to keep regular office hours between 9am and 6pm, although I do some work at night from home, and usually come to the office over the weekends for a few hours.  I’m currently learning more about web-video production and video marketing, since I share a studio-office with and do a lot of work for Reflex Media Solutions.
